DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Colorado broke open a 1-1 tie after the first period with four goals in the next two periods downing Detroit, 5-1. Detroit is now 30-29-9 on the year.
Detroit’s lone goal came at 6:55 as Pius Suter tied the game at one on an assist from Dylan Larkin. Colorado then scored two in the second and two in the third to take the win, 5-1.

Ville Husso allowed five goals on 21 shots and was replaced by Magnus Hellberg in the third period.
Head coach Derek Lalonde said, “Ville wasn’t sharp, and there wasn’t any reason to leave him out there once it got out of hand. He’ll be back out there on Monday.”
Detroit is now 2-8-1 in their last nine games and is nine points behind Pittsburgh for the second wild card for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
