ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Making their 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the University of Michigan women’s basketball team will be a no. 6 seed in the tournament. The No. 18 ranked Wolverines will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to take on no. 11 seed UNLV in the first round on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Baton Rouge Regional.
This will be their fifth trip in six seasons to the NCAA Tournament as they are 10-10 in the tournament. Last year they went to the Elite Eight which was a program first and have gone to back-to-back Sweet 16s. Head coach Kim Barnes Arico will coach in her 10th tournament as four were at St. Johns University. She is 13-9 all-time reaching the Sweet 16 three times. She is the only UM women’s basketball coach to take the program to six NCAA Tournaments.

Michigan heads to Louisiana later this week with the game on ESPNU on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
