DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The University of Detroit Mercy is now in the NCAA record books thanks to Antoine Davis’ three-point shooting. The graduate senior hit a school record 11 three-pointers in an 87-75 win over Robert Morris to break the NCAA record for most three-pointers made in a career. Davis now has 513 career three-pointers surpassing Wofford’s Fletcher Magee (2015-19) who had 509.

“This is unreal, still, even the scoring list,” said Davis. “I just keep doing what I do and enjoy living in the moment and having fun doing this. I am very blessed.”

Davis has been so humble in the process playing the game that he loves. He said if someone would have told him in the seventh grade he would be top three in scoring in the NCAA he wouldn’t have believed them.

The record-setting shot came with one minute and one second left in the first half from the left side of the arc. That make put his name in the record books as he surpassed Magee’s record.

“To be honest, I wasn’t thinking about the record I was just playing. When I hit five or six in a row, I knew I was going to get it today,” says Davis.

Davis is now third all-time in scoring with 3,232 points after scoring 41 points vs. Robert Morris. He needs just 17 points to move into second all-time and is just 435 points from Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667. It was just the fifth time in his career to score 40 or more points in a game. He is also coming closer to another NCAA record in consecutive games scoring in double figures with 130 as the record is 135 by Doug McDermott from Creighton (2011-14).

UDM broke their four-game losing streak and is now 7-12 and 3-5 in the Horizon League.
