Motor City was down just two at the end of the first quarter, 29-27, as Turell had a layup to come within two with 11 seconds left. Capital City took a 12-point lead in the second quarter, 39-37, early on but battled back. Down 10 points, 44-34, with 6:45 left in the half, Motor City went on a 15-4 run to take a one-point lead, 49-48, on two free throws with 2:05 left. They held onto the lead for a halftime score of 53-50.

Capital City came blazing back in the third quarter. As Motor City had a one-point lead, 56-55, with 11:05 to go in the period, Capital City went on a 14-4 run for a nine-point lead, 69-60, with 6:46 left to go. By the end of the third, the Go-Go were up by 12, 90-78.

In the fourth quarter, Motor City came within three-points, 107-104, on a three-pointer by Jones with 1:37 left to play. The Go-Go had a layup on their next possession for a five-point lead and then capitalized on a Cruise turnover over 10 seconds later making it 109-104. Another missed Cruise opportunity turned into a Go-Go bucket with 39 seconds left extending the lead to nine, 113-104. Two free throws with eight seconds left by the Cruise made the final, 115-108.
