LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon conceded the election on Wednesday morning, but that doesn’t mean she’s done with politics. She took to social media on Thursday to rake Michigan’s GOP leadership over the coals for a memo which seemingly places blame on everyone but themselves.

The Michigan GOP is lead by Co-chairs Ron Weiser and Meshawn Maddock, who Dixon specifically calls out. Dixon also mentions Chief of Staff Paul Cordes as another force who worked against her.

While the memo appears to blame Dixon’s “unknown” status after the August primary and lack of campaign funds, the two appear to place the blame on Dixon’s fundraising, not the Michigan GOP.

“Historically, our Republican gubernatorial nominees have raised several millions of dollars and built out teams during the primary, with preparations to expand an already strong operation as soon as they advance onto the general. Unfortunately, Dixon did not have that luxury,” the memo notes.

Michigan News Source reached out to the Michigan GOP but did not receive a response by press time.

Meanwhile, the Michigan GOP will select a new chair in the coming weeks. Internet chatter is encouraging Dixon to run and oust Weiser and Maddock.

The Michigan GOP appears to lack unity and clarity of vision as is often attributed to the Democratic Party. In March 2021, Co-chair Ron Weiser called Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson “witches.” In September of this year, Meshawn Maddock received massive pushback, then doubled-down, over her comments calling Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg a “weak little girl.”
