SPRING ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Two Michigan women’s soccer programs are nationally ranked in the October 5th NAIA National Poll. Spring Arbor is third in the nation at 7-1-2 with 460 points and was ranked as high as #2 in the nation. Aquinas is stationed at 16th with a 7-2-1 record and 251 points.

Spring Arbor has faced five nationally ranked teams this season and is 2-1-2 in those matches. On September 28, they fell to #3 Marian (Ind.), 2-1, in Crossroads Conference play but rebounded three days later in a 1-0 shutout win over #20 Grace College. They are led by Mackenzie Selvius who has 19 points with seven goals and five assists. Lauren Marshall also has seven goals on the team. Blair Currie is 6-0-0 in the goal with a 0.00 GAA and six combined shutouts with three shutouts of her own and 13 saves.

Aquinas College has taken on three nationally ranked teams in #3 Central Methodist, #23 Campbellsville, and #5 Marian. They are 1-2 in those match ups. Playing in the Wolverine-Hosier Athletic Conference, they are 5-0. Hannah Crum leads the team with five goals, two assists, and 15 points. Sydney Shenk also has 15 points with four goals and four assists. Kayla Shuk is the top goalie at 6-1-1 with 20 saves and a 0.70 goals against average.

These two teams will not see each other on the pitch as they are in two different conferences but could play in the NAIA National Tournament.
