SAULT SAINT MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – On Friday, be sure to get out your best plaid and wear it loud and proud in celebration of “Plaidurday.”
“Plaidurday” is a celebration of everything plaid, and it is celebrated on the first Friday of October.

The holiday was created in 2011 by a proud Yooper, Bugsy Sailor. His co-workers ridiculed him for wearing so much plaid, so he doubled down and began to wear even more. Eventually, Sailor declared a holiday.
Now “Plaidurday” is celebrated worldwide. Many events will be taking place across the Upper Peninsula to celebrate the multi-colored, small square clothing celebration.
