DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The past two days the Detroit Lions have shared their practices with the Indianapolis Colts traveling to Indiana. Both teams split up their squads to face real in-game situations.
On day one, Detroit struggled through the competition as head coach Dan Campbell said, “I won’t even talk about one-on-ones.”

The first practice ended as rookie safety Kerby Joseph grabbed an interception over the middle from Colts quarterback Nick Foles.
After struggling on day one, it looked like the Lions belonged there on day two. In red zone drills, the defense didn’t allow a touchdown on 12 plays. Then in the two-minute drill, neither the first or second team units gave up a first-down.
Fans saw a glimpse of what Aidan Hutchinson can do as he was part of a play that ended in a fumble recovery. Jeff Okudah also showed his strength with a deflection and strong leadership in the two-minute period.
Offensively, Jamaal Williams was the bright spot scoring a 10-yard touchdown up the middle. There were two dropped passes by veteran receivers and Jared Goff started off poorly. Goff finally improved in the seven-on-sevens and two-minute drills finishing 6-of-8 with four touchdowns between the two drills.
Needless to say, a lot work still needs to be done before the season opener for the Lions.
