DETROIT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Kyle Martin of Lochmoor Club held onto a one-shot victory for a $7,000 purse at the Prestwick Village Golf Club in Highland. Martin shot a par 72 finishing with a three-round total of 208. Oak Pointe Country Club’s Kyle Dobbs was one shot short of Martin with a 209 shooting a 71 on the final day.
“I did have some good fortune and I didn’t have my best stuff by any means, but when it counted I produced shots. I hit it solid on the back nine and with the rain delay it was nice to just go back out and get it done,” says Martin.

With the win, Martin earned a sponsor’s exemption into the PGA Tour’s 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club. This win goes along with his two Michigan PGA Match Play titles.
Tim Pearce(Birmingham Country Club), who led after day one, came in fourth place with a 212. He shot a 67 on day one followed by a 71 on day two and 74 with the final round finishing four under. Josh Fryer (Franklin Hills Country Club) was third at 211 (69-70-72).
Martin recorded four birdies on the day but also posted four bogies. He birdied on the seventh, eighth, 11th, and 13th to finish with his 71. It came down to Fryer with 12 pars but only three birdies and shooting a bogey on the 18th hole.
