DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Tuesday, July 26, marked a day for the Detroit Pistons launching a past look into the 2022-23 future. A Classic Edition uniform was unveiled in teal from the 1996-2001 road uniforms. The slogan for it: #ReturnOfTheTeal.

Mike Zavodsky, Chief Business Officer for the Pistons says, “To Pistons fans everywhere – we heard you, and this is for you. The teal jerseys represent a ‘colorful’ time in Pistons basketball and NBA history. We are thrilled to re-introduce the teal to a new generation of basketball fans, and can’t wait to see this version of Detroit Basketball suit up in them.”

Grant Hill, Jerry Stackhouse, Lindsey Hunter, and Ben Wallace all donned the teal jerseys that clinched three post-season berths. An exact replica of the original uniform (black, yellow, and red trim on a teal jersey) will feature the famed flaming horsehead and will be worn in approximately 10 games during the 2022-23 season.
