With the six-year deal for the Big Ten media rights up in 2023, negotiations are open for the conference to sign a new deal. How much could that deal be worth … that is up for discussion now that USC and UCLA have joined the conference. In 2017, a $2.64 billion deal was signed for six years dispersed amongst all the schools. The new expansion of the Big Ten could add an additional 25% to the contract.

The Big Ten will now be in the largest media markets in the United States in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. From the East Coast to the West Coast. Rumors of the new contract have been that the Big Ten media rights could be worth $1 billion a year and would dwarf the contract from 2017. The Big Ten leads all the other conference networks when it comes to bringing in media rights money.
