DETROIT (Great Lakes News) – Officials at the Oakland Hills Country Club say they plan to rebuild their clubhouse after a massive fire destroyed it last week.
Oakland Hills President Rick Palmer said the board of directors voted unanimously to rebuild a replica the 100-year-old grand, white, pillared clubhouse.
Insurance officials are still determining the damage to the structure, but Palmer said club officials are moving forward assuming the building is a total loss.
Palmer did not provide a monetary amount in damages.
