LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – New legislation introduced in Lansing would require schools to be more transparent when it comes to what is being taught in the classroom.
The bill would require schools to put much of its curriculum online, including classes offered to students, textbooks, literature, research projects, writing assignments, field trips, and extracurricular activities.

In addition, the bill would require a list of all certified teachers and anyone else authorized to teach who may have a say in implementing curriculum.
If schools don’t follow the law, the bill proposes they would lose 5% of their state funding.
