LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Many Michigan school districts are shutting down for the entire week of Thanksgiving, giving staff and families an opportunity to recover from COVID-19 and other illnesses.
According to federal health statistics, Michigan saw the worst new case rate in the U.S. on Friday.

Some school districts are undergoing a deep cleaning during the break.
For schools that are holding regular classes this week, keeping an eye on attendance is key. Schools must have three-quarters of students in class to count as an official day.
