In fact, many schools in West Michigan are struggling to find bus drivers.

The shortage is so bad that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has activated 250 National Guard troops to drive school buses.
Forest Hills School District Director of Transportation Todd Sharp said he has never seen anything like this in his 40 years of working in the industry.
In addition, Sharp says parents have started a carpooling system to transport kids in their neighborhood to school.
Sharp hopes a job fair held over the weekend will alleviate the problem.
