LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — A mannequin head, a Viking drinking horn, and 10 live lobsters are just a few of the more than 1.7 million items Uber riders left behind in cars last year, according to the company’s newly released 2025 Lost & Found Index.

The annual report, released on April 8, lists the most commonly forgotten and most unusual items left in Ubers nationwide. Phones, wallets, and keys topped the list, but more unusual entries included a Ghostbusters ghost trap, divorce papers, and 175 hamburger sliders.

“Uber riders have left behind some truly unforgettable items this year,” Camiel Irving, VP of Operations and GM of Mobility US&C at Uber, said.

New York City ranked as the most forgetful city. While Michigan cities did not make the top 10, Uber does not provide a state-by-state breakdown of data.

Additionally, October 26 marked the year’s most forgetful day—the Saturday before Halloween—while the most frequent hours for reported losses were 11 p.m. and midnight.

Among recurring trends, Uber flagged an uptick in lost wellness products such as yoga mats, pilates socks, and collagen supplements. The company also reported increases in left-behind Nintendo Switches, red-colored items, and legal paperwork.

Food-related entries like a 5-gallon bucket of beans and a thermos full of soup appeared alongside themed categories such as “Seeing Red (Again),” which highlighted the more than 8,000 red items lost last year, “Pickleball & Pilates Panic,” for workout gear, “Say Cheese!” for dental items, and “Bibbidi Bobbidi Oops,” for lost Disney souvenirs.

Uber encourages riders to report lost items through its app, where they can contact the driver directly and arrange for item return.

The company said the index serves to “celebrate the most unique and commonly forgotten items, while reminding riders that getting support to retrieve their prized possessions is simple through the Uber app.”
