DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The Detroit Pistons made NBA history in New York on Monday night, ending the longest post-season losing streak of 15 games. They held off the Knicks for the 100-94 victory in the final minute with a clutch three-pointer from Dennis Schroder. Cade Cunningham, who has been with Detroit through the tough times since 2021, led the Pistons with 33 points and 12 rebounds. It was in 2008 the last time the Detroit Pistons won an NBA Playoff game.
Coming down to the final minute, Schroder broke a 94-all tie, hitting the go-ahead three-pointer with 55 seconds to go. After each team exchanged missed three-pointers, Tobias Harris, a playoff veteran, took the defensive rebound with nine seconds left as Detroit held onto the three-point advantage, 97-94. A second later, Schroder makes one of two free throws, extending the lead to four points. The Knicks missed another three-pointer, and Jalen Duren made two free throws after being fouled with 3.1 seconds making the final 100-94.
