ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Ice and snow continue to melt in the Upper Peninsula after this week’s storms, but the Michigan Department of Transportation (MODT) is looking ahead to summer construction.
MDOT officials said there are 37 road, bridge, and railroad crossing projects scheduled for the U.P. this summer. A new carpool lot is also slated for summer work.

In addition, crews will resurface nearly 6 miles of US-41 from south of M-94 in Marquette County. That project is funded with $5.2 million from MDOT.
