ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Letting a nine-point lead slip away with 12 minutes left to play, Michigan’s season ended with Auburn,78-65. Michigan had a 48-39 lead with 12:26 left to play as Auburn went on a 12-0 run over three minutes to take the lead, 51-48. Auburn never let the lead go as they advance to the Elite Eight, facing Michigan State on Sunday.
Danny Wolf shot 50 percent from the floor leading the team with 20 points. Vladislav Golden added 10 points and nine rebounds, and Nimari Burnett scored 10.

In a tight-knit first half, Michigan trailed at the half, 30-29. Wolf put Michigan in front, 18-16, at 10:00. He kept a one-point lead, 20-19, at 8:50, and Rubin Jones gave the Wolverines a three-point lead, 24-21, with 6:43 to go. Burnett made it 27-23 on a three-pointer at 5:49 but didn’t score for over three minutes. After a 27-27 tie, Roddy Gayle, Jr. put Michigan back in front, 29-27, at 2:54, but missed their final three shots, turning the ball over once to trail at the half, 30-29.
Burnett gave Michigan a three-point lead, 35-32, early in the second half, but Auburn was within one at 16:30, 35-34. At 15:29, Michigan still had a one-point lead, 37-36, and over the next three minutes, went on an 11-3 run for an eight-point lead, 48-39. Will Tschetter made two free throws for their largest lead. Auburn answered with their own 12-0 run in three minutes to re-take the lead, never letting Michigan back into the game.
Michigan ends their season at 27-10 under first-year head coach Dusty May.
