BAY CITY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Vice President JD Vance spoke in Bay City on Friday, taking a minute to skewer protestors about their job status.

Vance continued to reference the protestors. “That’s one of the reasons we have got to rebuild American manufacturing and support great companies like Vantage Plastics because we want those people to get off the streets and back to work.” He added, “It would be good for them and be good for everyone else too.”
Vantage Plastics, which describes itself as a “full circle plastics processor,” hosted the Vice President after his remarks. Second Lady Usha Vance and Kelly Loeffler, administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, also attended the speech and tour of the facility.
The economy marked a focus on Friday as well, with Vance saying that President Donald Trump and his administration wouldn’t achieve all of its goals for the nation’s economy “overnight.” However, he said the first two months in office has marked significant process.

“We are not going to put people on welfare instead of giving them good middle class American jobs,” Vance said in his remarks. “We’re not going to drive housing through the roof. We’re going to make it affordable again to afford an American home.
This is the first visit by Vance since he and President Trump received Michigan’s 15 electoral votes on Nov. 5.
