CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Cleaning staff at a northern Michigan motel found an unexpected visitor on Friday, March 14: an alligator.
The staff at the Pine River Motel in Cheboygan found the unregistered guest while cleaning out the owner’s room. The alligator, named Wally Gator, was one of several animals traveling with his owner. He was visiting the area to participate in school assemblies and discuss exotic animals.

The owner said he knew the alligator was missing, but didn’t know where he had escaped. They have been reunited.
Staff from Bishop Baraga Catholic School aided in the investigation; Cheboygan County Animal Control assisted at the scene.
