WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – In a moment that underscores the perils of assuming privacy in the digital age, Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-Ann Arbor) was recorded during a Washtenaw County Democratic Party meeting candidly discussing strategies to oppose former President Donald Trump and the conservative agenda.

The five-pronged plan: litigate, legislate, educate, advocate, communicate.

According to a report in the media outlet Townhall, during the session, which was called “Democratic Responses to Trump’s Attacks & Lessons Learned from 2024 MI House Races,” Rep. Dingell outlined a comprehensive approach to counter conservative initiatives: litigate, legislate, educate, advocate, and communicate.

An animated Dingell emphasized the necessity of being “smart, targeted, and effective” in these efforts by infiltrating conservative communication channels, stating, “We need to make sure it’s in every one of those damn conservative (sic), wherever they’re communicating, and we have to be the voices that are smart, targeted and effective, and fighting back. And the way we do it. We litigate. We legislate.”

Dingell said she wished she could be more cheerful but there’s a lot of work to do. She also said “off the record” that they need to win back in two years and that “circular firing squads are not going to help us win back… if we’re going to win back, we gotta be united in remembering where our anger needs to be directed – and that is at President Trump and President Musk, period.”

The unintended public broadcast.

Concluding her remarks, Rep. Dingell reportedly muttered, “I hope nobody taped that.” Unfortunately for her, the session was indeed recorded, bringing these candid strategies into the public eye and serving as a stark reminder that, in today’s world, the microphone is always on.
