Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff says, “We are still working our way to becoming the team that we want. Every opportunity is just a challenge for us to sharpen our tools, and when you do it against the better teams in the league, it gives you a baseline of where you stand, where you can improve, and what you do well.”
On Sunday, Feb. 23, Detroit scored a season-best 148 points in a five-point road victory over Atlanta. That ended the four-game road trip, as they earned wins over Chicago twice, 132-92 and 128-110, San Antonio 125-110, and Atlanta. The 148 points were the sixth-highest performance in franchise history.
Detroit is currently the sixth-best team in the Eastern Conference and a game back of Indiana for fourth place. New York is 5.5 games ahead of Detroit for third, and Boston has a 10-game lead. They are 16 games back of first-place Cleveland.
