LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Being the top law enforcement official in Michigan may not be a full time job after all.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced she’s teamed up with fellow Democratic Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes for the new podcast called “Pantsuits and Lawsuits.” Nessel described the podcast as “a powerhouse perspective on news, justice, and everything in between” and said the two lawyers will “blend [their] expertise, humor, and straight talk” and “explore major legal cases, analyze state and national policy debates, and discuss how attorneys general help shape justice.”

It’s shaped up to be a tough month for Nessel. The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled in favor of permits for Enbridge Energy and its ongoing tunnel project for its Line 5 pipeline. This ruling is considered a blow to both Nessel and the Whitmer administration who have tried to shut down the energy source for years. She’s also joined taxpayer-funded lawsuits against President Donald Trump.
The podcast trend is catching on with other top state officials. This week, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the launch of his podcast “This is Gavin Newsom.” He said his goal is to book guests on the other side of the political spectrum with whom he disagrees.
The first three episodes of “Pantsuits and Lawsuits” launched on Friday.
