DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Four former college players from the state of Michigan will play in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Three will play for Kansas City, and one will play for Philadelphia. Western Michigan and the University of Michigan will be represented in Super Bowl LIX.

Trevor Keegan, a five-year player for Michigan, is a rookie for Philadelphia at guard. He was a fifth-round draft pick and is the second-string guard. He started on the 2023 National Championship team for the Wolverines and is a two-time All-Big Ten selection.

The Kansas City Chiefs boast the other three players: Mike Caliendo, Mike Danna, and Joshua Uche. Caliendo had a stellar career at Western Michigan. A six-year member of the football team at WMU, he was an Academic All-American starting 44 games. In his final year (2021), he was an All-MAC first-team selection on the offensive line and a William V. Campbell Trophy finalist for the “Academic Heisman.”

Danna and Uche are both from Michigan and defensive ends. Danna was drafted by Kansas City and played for the Chiefs his entire career, winning two Super Bowls. He played three seasons for Central Michigan before transferring to Michigan for his final season. While at CMU, he earned All-MAC first-team honors in 2018. Uche played four years at Michigan and was twice given All-Big Ten honors, starting his final two seasons in 2018 and 2019.

The Super Bowl LIX will be on CBS at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
