LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The National Register of Historic Places, a federal list of districts, sites, buildings, structures and objects protected and preserved under law, now boasts 11 additional Michigan properties.
Those Michigan properties include three designations in Detroit, including the Detroit Association of Women’s Club, the Philip J. Hart Plaza, and the Millwood Apartments. In addition, the U.S. Post Office Plymouth Station made the registry, too.

Other properties include the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Berrien County, the William and Lovila Moore House in Tuscola County, and the Capri Drive-In Theater in Branch County. The Hayes Hotel in Jackson and Washington Apartments in Lansing landed on the list as well. The Rogers Theater in Presque Isle County and the Vicksburg Union Depot in Kalamazoo County round out the list.
Since the 1960s, nearly 2,000 Michigan properties have been added to the National Register.
In order to qualify, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) said a site must be at least 50 years old and possess a significant relationship to major historical events.
