EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan State University and the University of Michigan are the top teams in the Big Ten, which shows in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll. MSU and UM both moved up four spots to 12th and 20th.

MSU entered the AP Poll in week six at 21st and has slowly moved up. The following week, they were 20th and then 18th in weeks eight and nine, before 16th last week and 12th this week. The Spartans are 14-2 and 5-0 in the Big Ten and have a nine-game winning streak.

Michigan has been in the AP Top 25 Poll in four different weeks. They debuted at 14th in week five and then were 24th in week six before dropping out in week seven and eight. Week nine brought a 24th ranking before moving up to 20th this week. With a 13-3 record, Michigan is also 5-0 in the Big Ten.

These two programs won’t play each other until February 21 in Ann Arbor.

The Big Ten has six teams in the top 25, led by MSU in 12th. Oregon is 13th, Purdue is 17th, Illinois is 19th, Michigan is 20th, and Wisconsin is 24th.
