LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – President Donald Trump spent a large chunk of time on his first day in office signing hundreds of executive orders. For many, those orders mark a shift back to “America First” and close the door on the abysmal policies of the Biden administration.

Among those executive orders included a call for greater transparency regarding Jan. 6. In fact, Trump issued mass pardons for those jailed on phony insurrection charges and who were denied due process.

Other executive orders of note included the protection of women’s sports and the withdraw of the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Rep. Angela Rigas (R-Caledonia) applauded Trump’s day one actions. “As a mother and advocate for fairness, I am proud to see President Trump standing up for our daughters and female athletes,” said Rep. Rigas. “This is about protecting the hard work and sacrifices of women everywhere who deserve a level playing field.”

In addition, Rigas expressed her relieve that America is no longer burdened by the WHO. “[It] has failed to uphold the values and standards that Americans demand. President Trump is leading the charge to ensure we are no longer beholden to an organization that puts globalist agendas ahead of American health and safety,” Rep. Rigas stated.

Newly elected Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall (R-Richland Township) also expressed his willingness to work with the Trump administration.

“The American people have spoken asking for real change, and now President Trump is taking bold, decisive action to immediately deliver on his promises to secure our borders, assert American energy dominance, and bolster Michigan’s auto industry.”

Rep. Hall also referenced Michigan voters who flipped the state House and installed a Republican majority. “The people of Michigan also want bold leadership here at home, and that’s why they have elected House Republicans to lead in our state Legislature.”
