The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the John Deere ZTrak™ Zero Turn Mowers with Kawasaki Engines have a voltage regulator inside the mower’s engine that can fail while in use or in storage. The engine can overheat and pose a fire and burn hazard. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled mowers were sold at authorized John Deere dealers nationwide from October 2018 through September 2024 for between $8,000 and $11,500.
Consumers should stop using the recalled mowers and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free repair. Questions can be directed to Deere & Company at (800) 537-8233 or Kawasaki Motors USA (866) 836-4463.
