PONTIAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The mother of the Oxford High School shooter petitioned a judge and requested a release from prison while her appeal is pending.
Jennifer Crumbley’s request to dismiss the charges is also pending. Her motion requests the release from prison on bond since she “did not commit a crime recognized by law.”

Crumbley is serving a 10-15 year sentence for involuntary manslaughter after her son shot and killed four students and injured seven others at Oxford High School in 2021. A jury convicted her husband, James Crumbley, on the same charges. Both juries found them negligent in their parenting by providing the gun to their son he used in the murders.
The shooter, who was 15 at the time of the crime, is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
