BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Dominating Valdosta State in the national championship, 49-14, Ferris State won their third national in four years under head coach Tony Annese. FSU had 465 yards of total offense with 251 yards on the ground. FSU won national championships in back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022.

“Wow, what an amazing feeling and accomplishment for our guys. These guys mean so much to me and it’s awesome to see the jubilation they have following an outcome like this. We’re so appreciative of all the support we have received from our administration to our alumni and our fans. It was an awesome year,” said Annese.

FSU scored on its first three possessions for a 21-0 lead, as all three drives were over 60 yards. They went into halftime with a 28-7 lead. The Bulldogs added another 21 points in the second half, allowing just seven points for the 49-14 win.

The defense provided a scoop and score in the third quarter when Tyrone Fowler took a fumble 16 yards to make it 42-14. Sefa Saipaia led the team with eight tackles as they had three sacks.

Trinidad Chambliss threw for three touchdowns and 153 yards while rushing for two touchdowns. Kannon Katzer had 97 yards rushing as Cam Underwood produced 86 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

FSU finished the year as the GLIAC Champions, Super Region Three Champions, and National Champions.
