DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Michigan’s gubernatorial election is two years away, but candidates are already stepping into the spotlight.

Detroit’s Democratic mayor Mike Duggan released a video announcing he is entering the race to become Michigan’s next Governor. Voters elected Duggan to three terms as Detroit’s mayor. He will run as an Independent because of what he says is polarization of the current political landscape.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is term limited and cannot run again.
