LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The state of Michigan has the fourth highest car insurance rates in the country, according to Carinsurance.com.
Louisiana had the highest car insurance rates in the country with an annual cost of $2,883. Florida was second at $2,694 followed by California ($2,416) and Michigan ($2,352).

Maine had the lowest car insurance costs in the county at $1,175 per year.
For Michigan, the website had the average full-coverage costs at $2,352 with liability only at $694 per year. The rates were as of Dec. 19, 2024.
