ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Both the University of Michigan and Ohio State University will have to pay up.

That’s the determination of the Big Ten Conference after it announced an institutional fine for both schools for violating the conference’s sportsmanship policy. Both schools must pay $100,000.

A fight broke out following Saturday’s football game after Michigan’s 13-10 win over Ohio State stunned the crowd. The Wolverines attempted to plant their flag on the field and the Buckeyes tried to stop it.

The incident forced police to use pepper spray to break up the players after they punched and shoved each other.
