BELLEVILLE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The two top players in Michigan will head west 30 miles to the University of Michigan as Belleville’s Bryce Underwood and Elijah Dotson have signed with the Wolverines. Underwood is the top quarterback in the nation, while Dotson is a four-star safety and the number two recruit in Michigan.

Underwood’s journey to Michigan took a turn to the south before landing in Ann Arbor. He originally verballed to LSU but decommitted a month ago, re-opening his recruiting journey. His high school teammate, Dotson, had committed to Michigan and helped sway Underwood to the Wolverines.

In a recent interview with 247Sports, Underwood says that Dotson and he went to Michigan, “It was mainly a feeling for the both of us. No matter what, we wanted the best for each other no matter where it was. If I was to stay at LSU, if I was to stay at Michigan, if was to go anywhere else, he wanted the best for me and me the same for him.”

Dotson is the 10th-ranked safety in the nation for the Class of 2025, and Underwood says of his teammate, “I haven’t seen a weakness yet from Elijah. He’s great on ball skills. He’s great on his toes. He’s great on his feet. He’s got very long arms. He’s very lengthy. He’s a great all-around player. Overall, I feel like he’s the number one safety or DB in the country.”

According to 247Sports, Michigan currently has the seventh-ranked class for 2025. With Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore looking for a new offensive coordinator, the Wolverine’s future offense is in good hands landing Underwood. The defense, already strong after their showing against Ohio State, adds a defensive back to a depleted depth chart after this season.

Both Underwood and Dotson will enroll at Michigan on December 20.
