GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – More than 40 dogs at the Kent County Animal Shelter are ready for new homes.

The director told WZZM that the shelter has 104 dogs currently, and only 79 kennels.

Most of the animals that are housed at the Kent County Animal Shelter are strays. They are brought to the shelter through animal control and law enforcement, and sometimes, community members.

However, animal shelter staff are hopeful. They’re developing ongoing adoption specials that will hopefully find more dogs new homes.
