FARWELL, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – An elementary art teacher in Clare County is still employed after her comments on social media appear to call for an assassination attempt against President-elect Donald Trump.
Ashley Parker, a K-5 art teacher with Farwell Area Schools, made the remarks on Nov. 6, the day after Trump won the election.

Parker responded to a Facebook post by Nicole Brown which said, “Nothing an assasination [sic] can’t take care of.” Parker said, “Normally, I would never wish this on anyone, but now…and let’s hope for a 2fer…We have ALL lost. Just many of us don’t realize it yet.”
The school still employs Parker, and she penned an apology letter on Thursday, Nov. 14. The district posted the apology on its Facebook page and shut off the comments.
Michigan News Source reached out to Farwell Area Schools Superintendent Steven Scoville asking for a comment and inquiring why Parker had not been fired. He did not respond by press time. People called for Parker’s resignation on other posts from the school district.
