DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Recently acquired Detroit Lions Za’Darius Smith broke out in a dance on Sunday after he recorded his first sack of the season for his new team. Smith was joined in what has been described as a “Trump Dance” by teammate and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez.

Now, ESPN and the Associated Press made attempts to cancel the dance.

The two news outlets combined their reporting efforts in a Nov. 19 article that questioned the National Football League (NFL) over whether it would continue to allow the Trump Dance.

President-elect Donald Trump did the dance at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids. He often does the dance to the song “YMCA.”

Trump posted a photo on Truth Social of many NFL players doing the Trump Dance, including the Detroit Lions, with the caption, “TRUMP DANCE SWEEPS THE NATION.”

And the NFL won’t stop it.

“The NFL has ‘no issue’ with its players incorporating the ‘Trump dance’ into their on-field celebrations,” the ESPN article stated.

ESPN reported: “NFL rules allow for players to celebrate as long as the celebrations are not excessive and don’t feature violent or sexually suggestive acts. Players are also not allowed to wear printed hats or clothing that promote political opinions …”

The conservative media news site Outkick reported that CBS edited out the Trump Dance after it was performed by Las Vegas Raider Brock Bowers after he scored a touchdown on Sunday.
