DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The city of Detroit paid the Detroit Public Schools Community District $201,516.21 for the use of its schools for the primary and general elections in 2024.

The payment was approved at the Nov. 12 city council meeting. The district offered its schools for 15 polling locations within the city.

Detroit has 524,562 registered voters this election and the city had a 47.17% turnout. The voter turnout was 34.05% in the November 2022 election.

In the November 2024 election, the city had 181,896 voters do a Democrat straight-party ticket and 11,764 do a Republican straight-party ticket.
