LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Fifty-two new Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers graduated on Thursday afternoon from the 147th Trooper Recruit School.
Graduates will begin their assignments at MSP posts across the state next week.

“Congratulations to the graduates of the 147th Trooper Recruit School!” said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. “As governor, know that I will have your back and collaborate with anyone to ensure you have the resources and support you need to keep our communities safe.”
Recruits started training on Sunday, July 7 at the MSP Training Academy in Lansing. Recruits trained in patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, cultural diversity and implicit bias, decision making, leadership, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing, firearms, water safety, defensive tactics and precision driving.
