LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – There’s less than three weeks to go before the Nov. 5 election, but absentee voting is already underway in Michigan. With early voting starting in some communities this weekend, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel decided now is the time for a webpage devoted to election misinformation.
According to Nessel’s office, the new website aims to “help voters recognize artificial intelligence (AI) and access accurate information about elections online.”

Nessel stated, βWhile technology has made it easier than ever to access election information, the rise of AI has also made it easier for misinformation on these topics to spread,β Nessel said. βTo help protect voters from misinformation, this comprehensive guide is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure everyone can confidently navigate the digital landscape and stay informed with the facts they need to make their voices heard this election.β
In addition, Nessel said AI has can replicate human writing and speech. The election misinformation webpage provides tips on how voters can spot AI-generated content, access reliable election resources, and protect their votes.
However, not everyone sees it as a positive move.
