PONTIAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard is continuing to sound the alarm over an increase in high-end crime in his jurisdiction.
On The Steve Gruber Show earlier this week, Sheriff Bouchard said securing the border is the best solution.

“You don’t know who or what is coming across the border,” Bouchard said. “We know tremendous amounts of fentanyl is coming across the border, and that China and Mexico and the cartels are profiting greatly.”
Part of those profits are at the expense of Bouchard’s friends, neighbors, and community members of Oakland County. He said synthetic fentanyl is making its way into all sorts of drugs in Michigan. He also emphasized that four different teams of criminals have made their way into the county to commit crimes in high-end neighborhoods in the past year.
“These are two Chilean gangs and two Colombian gangs,” Bouchard said. “I got a classified debrief last week about Venezuelan activity that’s come across the border. The violence they are committing here is growing exponentially.”
Bouchard is a part of the Major County Sheriffs of America, which is also seeing the same criminal activity in different communities nationwide.
“It’s a real problem,” Bouchard said.
