LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Both presidential campaigns marked Michigan as frequent stop on their tours for the last two months, and those visits will be placed more closely together as election day approaches.

Democrats bring in big names.

The Democratic ticket is bringing in the big guns this week. On Tuesday afternoon, former President Barack Obama will stump for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz in Detroit. On Saturday, former First Lady Michelle Obama and Harris will attend an event when early voting kicks off throughout Michigan.

Republicans make their presence known.

On the Republican side of the aisle, vice presidential candidate JD Vance will visit Waterford on Thursday. Vance  said previously that the Trump-Vance ticket will have a weekly presence in Michigan. Trump is scheduled to visit Traverse City on Friday and Novi on Saturday.

Ongoing polling.

It appears those visits are working for the Trump campaign. According to Rasmussen poll results released on Tuesday, Trump has a two-point lead over Harris. This is down slightly from Monday’s lead, with polls tracking daily results.

The latest Rasmussen Reports found that if the election were held today, 48% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for Trump and 47% would vote for Harris. Two percent (2%) say they’d vote for some other candidate and two percent (2%) are undecided.

Michigan is one of seven battleground states that are predicted to swing the election. A Real Clear Polling report shows Trump up 1.2% over Harris.
