GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan and MSU aren’t the only huge rivals this Saturday, as no. 1 Grand Valley State hosts no. 4 Ferris State University. GVSU moved to no. 1 this week after former no. 1 Harding University fell unexpectedly to Ouachita Baptist. These two teams meet for the 14th consecutive time, being ranked having their sixth straight top 10 match-up.

GVSU has won three of the last four meetings, including a 21-14 NCAA playoff victory last season. From 2016 to 2021, FSU took six straight meetings, winning two national championships.

The Anchor-Bone Classic is one of the best rivalries in NCAA Division II. FSU has won eight of the last eleven meetings, five of which have come in the NCAA playoffs. GVSU leads the series 32-23-1. The trophy came into existence in 2002, when GVSU won the first nine meetings.
