LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer managed to bewilder the internet on Thursday, starring in a strange video where she feeds left-wing podcaster Liz Plank a Dorito like she’s hosting an underground Eucharist ceremony.

The video, posted by Plank on her Instagram page, has understandably gone viral. In the video, Whitmer, who appears to be sporting a Harris/Walz campaign hat, offers a Dorito (Kamala Harris’ favorite snack) to a kneeling Plank in a gesture reminiscent of administering the Eucharist – a sacred act in Catholicism and Christianity. To top off the bizarre scene, a music clip plays to the backdrop of “Dilemma,” a throwback hit from Kelly Rowland and Nelly, with lyrics crooning, “I love you/And I need you/Nelly I love you/I do need you/No matter what I do/All I think about is you.”

Chips, chats, and controversy.

Some on X have said that Whitmer is the one who released the video but it is on Plank’s Instagram page along with “Chips aren’t just delicious, the CHIPS Act is a game-changer for U.S. tech and manufacturing, boosting domestic production of semiconductors to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers! Donald Trump would put that at risk.”

It’s unknown if Whitmer participated voluntarily in the video or it’s an AI promo from the Plank team because COINCIDENTALLY, her interview called “Chip Chat” with Whitmer dropped today as well. At press time, Whitmer’s office did not return a request for comment about the video.

During the interview, they snack on Detroit-made Better Made potato sticks and then delve into the subject of abortion. Even more disturbing than the Doritos video is Whitmer’s reaction to a question from Plank. She says to the governor, “You have two daughters. When they come back home and they leave their Stanley cups lying around, do you ever think about getting a post-birth abortion?”

Whitmer laughs hilariously at the question and says that “there’s no such thing” and it’s really important “to make sure people understand that.”

Whitmer goes on to say that she’d rather be in a forest with a bear than Donald Trump because she might have a better shot of reasoning with the bear. Then they talk about Whitmer’s kidnapping and Whitmer says she’d like to meet one of the kidnappers.

Is the video AI or Whitmer gone wild?

Getting back to the Dorito video, social media users were quick to notice the uncomfortable symbolism, suggesting Whitmer was mocking Catholics by mimicking a sacred ritual. The question remains: was this some bizarre Liz Plank PR stunt for her interview that Whitmer participated in – or a deep fake disaster from the Plank team? Whitmer and Plank appear to be wearing matching outfits in both the interview and the viral clip, with Plank also wearing the same tie in her hair and Whitmer wearing what appears to be the same bracelet. In addition, there’s a peculiar photo in the background that some eagle-eyed viewers claim features some sort of military image.

Who’s responsible for this circus?

Despite the video making waves, it’s Whitmer’s apparent participation in the video that is making people scratch their heads. With blasphemy, bad jokes, and Doritos in the mix, if this is Whitmer’s attempt at connecting with the public, she might be better off sticking to her day job.
