LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – While the race for president among Michigan voters remains a dead heat, an exclusive AARP Poll on Tuesday reveals that former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by one point among older voters.
The poll shows Trump boasts 47% among voters who are at least 50 years of age compared to Harris’ 46%.

Among all voters, each candidate garnered 46% of the vote.
Pollsters interviewed 1,382 likely Michigan voters between Oct. 2 and Oct. 8 about the presidential and U.S. Senate races and about the issues that are driving them to the polls. The poll’s margin of error is 4 percent for all voters and 3.5 percent for voters 50-plus.
“The race in Michigan couldn’t be closer,” says Jeff Liszt, a partner at Impact Research. “Everything in Michigan is just extremely competitive right now.”
That’s clear in the number of visits that both camps keep making to Michigan. Harris will make three different stops in Michigan this week. Trump will stop by Oakland County on Friday.
Trump’s visit there is timely. Oakland County has been battling transnational gangs for the past year. They target and rob high-end homes. Sheriff Mike Bouchard has repeatedly said securing the border will help to solve that problem. Over the weekend, Trump received the endorsement from the union representing border control agents.
