NOVI, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan State Fair opened Sunday with new policies and hours after a shooting left a 14-year-old boy dead and another injured on Saturday night.
State Fair officials say for the remainder of the fair, any attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to enter.

The two Detroit area teens were shot in the parking lot. Officials believe a weeklong argument lead to the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
Officials are increasing police presence and implementing weapons detection systems.
The State Fair will be closing the box office and entry at 6 p.m. Sunday and closing the fairgrounds at 7 p.m. both Sunday and Monday, Sept. 2.
