MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Two MAC players from Michigan are William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalists announced by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Central Michigan’s Dominic Serapiglia and Eastern Michigan’s Jere Gertzinger, from West Branch, Mich., are two of the six players from the MAC on the list featuring 203 players.
Serapiglia is a Supply Chain Management major with a 3.63 grade point average, playing as the center. Getzinger has a 3.76 grade point average as a business major.

Serapiglia has played on the offensive line between CMU and Southeastern Louisiana for four years. He has started 25 games, been nominated for two national community service awards, and is a 2024 preseason All-MAC selection.
Michigan native Getzinger earned his degree from EMU in April and is in graduate school. Last year, he appeared in 13 games and caught 16 passes for 88 yards and one touchdown as a tight end. The Ogemaw Heights product has also earned All-MAC academic awards.
CMU is currently 1-0 in the MAC and 2-2 on the year, while EMU has yet to start MAC play and is 3-1 overall.
