DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Workers at Webasto auto supplier plants in Detroit have filed for a union election with the National Labor Relations Board.

A majority of employees at the company’s plant in Detroit signed union cards that state they want to form a bargaining unit.

NLRB officials say the bargaining unit would consist of all hourly full-time and regular part-time employees at the Haggerty facility, which numbers more than 500. The German auto supplier has several plants in Michigan, including one in the Plymouth area where employees ratified a contract this year that included salary raises and other benefits.
