LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press over the weekend and aligned herself with Vice President Kamala Harris’ push for driver’s licenses for those who come into the U.S. illegally.
The NBC anchor asked Whitmer, “Would you support the Harris administration, if she were to be elected, adopting those proposals I just laid out for you? For example, driver’s licenses for those who are undocumented?”

Whitmer stammered her response. “What we need to do is have an immigration system that works. We need to secure the border and make sure that when people are in this country they have access to some form of ID.”
She continued, “The spirit of those things should be a part of any vision for the country.”
Whitmer failed to mention that the Biden-Harris administration revoked many Trump-era policies that did secure the border, or that Harris could stop the influx of illegals now.
Prior to that discussion, Whitmer praised Gov. Tim Walz as a great running mate for Harris and called him a “pragmatist.”
“The wonderful things he’s done in Minnesota resonate with Americans in all states,” she said, referring to taxpayer-funded breakfast and lunch for public school students.
